That headline and this thumbnail probably want some unpacking! So let's do it.
Our President & CEO, Peri Fractic, loves Knight Rider.
He has owned a full-size K.I.T.T. replica for years, one of his prized possessions, and restored it in a YouTube series.
He is giving away said repli-K.I.T.T. as a promotion on the Retro Recipes x Commodore YouTube channel.
100% of proceeds will be allocated by Commodore, a Public Benefit Corporation, to support it's Commodore Cares initiatives.

Commodore Cares. Of course it does!
"...A crusade, to champion the cause of the innocent, the helpless, the powerless."
- The Knight Rider voiceover intro... also a great way to describe Commodore Cares
If you were a tech fan in the Autumn of 1982, it's safe to say you were having a very good month, as the Commodore 64, and Knight Rider, both launched (or turbo boosted) within a month of each other.
And for so many of us, the Commodore 64 was an introduction to the joy of computing. Sure we gamed, but we also made music and coded and wrote and made art. It kept us out of trouble, started hobbies still hold dearly decades later, and put many of us career paths that helped us toward a full and fulfilled life.
When we look back now, we feel such happiness of that childhood nostalgia, but Peri became keenly aware not just how lucky he and many of us were, but how many kids today will not feel that happiness when they look back 20, 30, 40 years from now.
"One man CAN make a difference, Michael..."
And so we want to share that opportunity with a new generation.
We have two initial partners we're thrilled to work with:

Teen Reach (and their Teen Reach Adventure Camp)
Teen Reach Adventure Camp or T.R.A.C. is a national program which seeks to provide a Hope and a Future to "at-risk" youth. The programs of Teen Reach take into account the issues surrounding adolescence, especially for those who reside in foster care or relative care. The staff works diligently to raise funds so that this camp is provided to the foster families at no cost.
They seek to provide positive memories through experiences like horseback riding, hiking, playing in a river or finding crawdads, conquering a climbing wall, caving, having animal encounters, and so much more. This year, in XXX, Commodore activities will be blended with pre-planned Camp arts and crafts exercises. Over the course of each day at camp, campers will have the opportunity to learn/use/create with Commodore 64 Ultimate (primary), and tinker with original hardware (secondary).
"Curiosity has a built in humility and it can also instill confidence with practice. By adventuring into the world of Commodore, these campers will have the opportunity to safely experience the magic of retro."
- Ricky Atwood, Commodore Sales Manager and 13 Year T.R.A.C. Volunteer

Simply Great Education
Simply Great Education's mission is to provide inclusive, hands-on digital education that builds confidence, practical skills, and clear pathways into the UK’s digital careers. They offer a safe, structured, aspirational digital learning environment where students are seen, supported, and celebrated.
Many SGE students arrive with a passion for gaming or technology. SGE uses that as a bridge into education by:
Leveraging their passion into hands-on digital skills
Moving them from passive digital consumers to active digital creators
Immersing them in a community of like-minded learners where they are celebrated
SGE works with young people aged 14 to 25, typically starting in Year 11, transitioning to post-16, who:
Are not engaging in mainstream education
Have experienced trauma, exclusion, or anxiety
Are at risk due to their behaviours or those around them
Hold an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP)
Commodore is proud to help these young people explore fundamental roles in software, cyber, digital media and tech support.
“The world of retro computing provides our young learners with an opportunity to explore and experience technology in its simplest form. Shutting the door on a noisy and stressful modern world to rediscover the excitement of computing and the freedom to explore. Commodore is providing a mix of old and new technology which opens up a gateway to a magical world of adventure and discovery.“
- Lenny McCoy, Chief Enthusiast at Simply Great Education
We can't wait to share more about the Commodore Cares initiatives in the coming months. Until then, if you want to help and are looking for a new sick ride, snag a ticket (or 64!) for Peri's repli-K.I.T.T.
P.S. K.I.T.T. has jammed the website code using his scanner, to hack a way for you to double the number of tickets you receive - just enter this code: MAKEADIFFERENCE
